The Producers

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Producers_(2005_film)#/media/File:The_Producers_(2005).jpg

For the tenth film of the month we have The Producers

First off, we have the story which after putting together another Broadway flop, down-on-his-luck Producer Max Bialystock teams up with timid accountant Leo Bloom in a get-rich-quick scheme to put on the world's worst show. I thought the story was very entertaining and because I went in blind and because of where it decided to go it made it more enjoyable.

Next, we have the characters which overall, I thought were great in terms of acting and brought their all into each individual character and the chemistry between the two main leads played by Nathan Lane and Matthew Broderick was fun to see.

As for the film's visuals I thought the cinematography throughout was very good and the production design for each musical number helped them to stand out from one another. Moving onto the tone of the film which I though got the comedy right and suited the style the film was going for. I thought the soundtrack of the film was very interesting because I never expected the songs to surprise me with how far they went.

I give The Producers a score of 7/10

Hulk

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hulk_(film)#/media/File:Hulk_movie.jpg

For the ninth film of the month we have Hulk

First off, we have the story which has Bruce Banner, a genetics researcher with a tragic past, suffers an accident that causes him to transform into a raging green monster when he gets angry. I thought the story had some interesting ideas behind it however the execution was lacking impact.

Next, we have the characters which overall, I thought were in terms of acting not that good which made the characters bland and uninteresting and you didn't care for them.

As for the film's visuals I thought the cinematography throughout which attempted to recreate the look of a comic book with the help of the editing, unfortunately it comes across as annoying and obnoxious. Now we have the action which tried to be entertaining and there was one or two parts that managed to work. Moving onto the tone of the film which I thought tried to make a more dramatic and convincing. with mixed attempts.I thought the soundtrack of the film did an ok job at adding to some of the scenes throughout.

I give Hulk a score of 5/10

Ghostbusters II

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ghostbusters_II#/media/File:Ghostbusters_ii_poster.jpg

For the eighth film of the month we have Ghostbusters II

First off, we have the story which has the discovery of a massive river of ectoplasm and a resurgence of spectral activity allows the staff of Ghostbusters to revive the business. I thought the story was had some interesting moments throughout and I think it was an enjoyable follow-up.

Next, we have the characters which overall, I thought were for the most part good in terms of acting and the chemistry between the main leads were still there and worked well off on another.

As for the film's visuals I thought the cinematography throughout was consistent and the visual effects were for the majority of the film were just as good as the previous film's effects. Now we have the action which some of the sequences were enjoyable to watch. Moving onto the tone of the film which tried to continue the similar type of comedy from before and it worked sometimes. I thought the soundtrack of the film continued the same style the previous film was going for and added to the film well.

I give Ghostbusters II a score of 4/10

Fantastic Four

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fantastic_Four_(2015_film)#/media/File:Fantastic_Four_2015_poster.jpg

For the seventh film of the month we have Fantastic Four

First off, we have the story which has four young outsiders teleport to an alternate and dangerous universe which alters their physical form in shocking ways. The four must learn to harness their new abilities and work together to save Earth from a former friend turned enemy. I thought the story was very weak and the way it was constructed seemed to rush the events between the acts.

Next, we have the characters which overall, I thought were in terms of acting very dull which is a shame considering some of the stars in it who had potential to be good in their roles.

As for the film's visuals I thought the cinematography throughout was very bad with it's overly usage of dark lighting which in some scenes would work but because the majority of the film is like that it becomes distracting. Now we have the action which tried to be entertaining if only there was more of it. Moving onto the tone of the film which tried to bring a darker feel to the reboot but I didn't feel it was the right way to go considering the characters involved. I thought the soundtrack of the film was nonexistent and didn't add much.

I give Fantastic Four a score of 3/10

End Of Watch

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/End_of_Watch#/media/File:End_of_Watch_Poster.jpg

For the sixth film of the month we have End Of Watch

First off, we have the story which has the daily grind of two young police officers in LA who are partners and friends, and what happens when they meet criminal forces greater than themselves. I thought the story was entertaining and thrilling and getting to see the inner works of a tough job and what that entails.

Next, we have the characters which overall, I thought were great in terms of acting from Jake Gyllenhaal and Michael Peña and their chemistry carried the story well from their interactions and how real they felt.

As for the film's visuals I thought the cinematography throughout was very good and I liked the way the camera was used in certain scenes and added to the dangers of being an officer and makes you feel you are in those moments with the characters. Now we have the action which when it happened was suspenseful and tense to watch. Moving onto the tone of the film which had some nice comedy thrown in but when the drama hit it brought the emotions out. I thought the soundtrack added to the style of the film.

I give End Of Watch a score of 8/10

Dark Star

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dark_Star_(film)#/media/File:DarkStarposter.jpg

For the fifth film of the month we have Dark Star

First off, we have the story which has the far reaches of space, a small crew, 20 years into their solitary mission, find things beginning to go hilariously wrong. I thought the story was very weird but somehow kept me intrigued.

Next, we have the characters which overall, I thought were in terms of acting were interesting as they were all weird but kept the film going with their interactions on-board the ship.

As for the film's visuals I thought the cinematography throughout was very good and the sets of the Dark Star were believable for the time the film was released. Moving onto the tone of the film which was very dry when it came to it's comedy and it got a few laughs out of me. I thought the soundtrack of the film suited the style the film was going for and suited the characters likes.

I give Dark Star a score of 5/10

Caddyshack

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Caddyshack#/media/File:Caddyshack_poster.jpg

For the fourth film of the month we have Caddyshack

First off, we have the story which has an exclusive golf course has to deal with a brash new member and a destructive dancing gopher. I thought the story was somewhat enjoyable however most of the jokes didn't land for me.

Next, we have the characters which overall, I thought was probably the best part about the film to make it enjoyable and to try and make the jokes funny to watch.

As for the film's visuals I thought the cinematography throughout was good enough and consistent for this type of film. Moving onto the tone of the film which tried it's best to have the film being funny but it was a shame some of it didn't work for me because of the type of jokes they were trying.I thought the soundtrack of the film was good and used tracks that came from the year the film was released.

I give Caddyshack a score of 5/10

Basic Instinct

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Basic_Instinct#/media/File:Basic_Instinct.png

For the third film of the month we have Basic Instinct

First off, we have the story which has a violent police detective investigates a brutal murder, in which a manipulative and seductive novelist could be involved. I thought the story was very interesting and kept the mystery intriguing.

Next, we have the characters which overall, I thought were very good in terms of acting and the chemistry between the two main leads played by Michael Douglas and Sharon Stone kept the story going

As for the film's visuals I thought the cinematography throughout was consistent and created the noir style for the film very well which suited the story being told. Moving onto the tone of the film which kept the drama entertaining and thrilling as the story twisted and turned. I thought the soundtrack of the film was good and suited the time and setting of the story.

I give Basic Instinct a score of 7/10

An Education

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/An_Education#/media/File:Education_ver3.jpg

For the second film of the month we have An Education

First off, we have the story which has a coming-of-age story about a teenage girl in 1960s suburban London, and how her life changes with the arrival of a playboy nearly twice her age. I thought the story was very interesting and I enjoyed the direction it took for the main character.

Next, we have the characters which overall, I thought were good in terms of acting and well realised especially Carey Mulligan as Jenny because of the way she was able to portray the character with her wants and aspirations and how her relationship with David affects her.

As for the film's visuals I thought the cinematography was consistent and the setting of 1960's London as the main location was well realised to have the correct landscapes and features. Moving onto the tone of the film which I thought realised the drama very well and made the decisions feel important. I thought the soundtrack of the film was ok and added to the setting of the film.

I give An Education a score of 7/10

47 Ronin

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/47_Ronin_(2013_film)#/media/File:47Ronin2012Poster.jpg

For the first film of the new month we have 47 Ronin

First off, we have the story which has a band of samurai set out to avenge the death and dishonor of their master at the hands of a ruthless shogun. I thought the story had a very interesting concept but dragged in places.

Next, we have the characters which overall, I thought were ok in terms of acting and I enjoyed Keanu Reeves performance with the type of character he was playing however the rest of them you don't care for and the performances showed.

As for the film's visuals I thought the effects used throughout were very good as well as the landscape footage of Japan and the colours used to give the film it's own style. Now we have the action which had some enjoyable sequences however some of the camerawork was questionable in places. Moving onto the tone of the film which managed to have the right of drama for the story to try  and make things interesting. I thought the soundtrack of the film was ok and suited the type of film it was.

I give 47 Ronin a score of 5/10
