Sherlock Holmes Faces Death

For the sixth film of the month we have Sherlock Holmes Faces Death

First off, we have the story which has several murders occur at a convalescent home where Dr. Watson has volunteered his services. He summons Holmes for help and the master detective proceeds to solve the crime from a long list of suspects including the owners of the home, the staff and the patients recovering there. I thought the story was very intriguing from the very start and I enjoyed the mystery of the story. 

Next, we have the characters which overall, I thought were one of the stars of the film with Sherlock and Watson giving great performances. There was also the secondary cast who added to the mystery of the house and were all suspects so you could figure it out for yourself.  

As for the film's visuals, I thought it had a good look too it with again focusing of the lighting and shadows to add to themes and mystery of the film. Moving onto the tone of the film which returned to the dark and mysterious atmosphere which suited the story very well and kept the intrigue going from the very start. I thought the soundtrack of the film was good especially the sound effects used to build the atmosphere of the setting.

Overall, I thought this film was an excellent film with an interesting story and characters that build the it up very well. This film was also helped by its choice of setting and it's atmospheric tone. 

I give Sherlock Holmes Faces Death a score of 9/10
