For the twenty-second film of the month we have The Apartment
First off, we have the story which has a man trying to rise in his company by letting its executives use his apartment for trysts, but complications and a romance of his own ensue. I thought the story
was very enjoyable because of the tight knit script in terms of dialogue which made the characters bounce off one another.
Next, we have the characters which overall, I thought were great especially the main lead C.C Baxter played by Jack Lemmon because of the way he brought across the drama as well as the comedy. The rest of the cast did a good job with the chemistry to fill out the story.
As for the film's visuals I thought they were very consistent throughout in terms of the camera movement and positioning. Moving onto the tone of the film which I thought was very interesting because of the way it mixed some comedic moments and dramatic parts crafted into the story. I thought the soundtrack of the film was pretty good and worked when needed.
Overall, I thought this was a thoroughly enjoyable film that made use of the comedic and dramatic elements to full effect and made you care for C.C Baxter and his situation so that by the end you hope he gets what he wants.
I give The Apartment a score of 8/10
