For the twenty-seventh film of the month we have The World's End
First off, we have the story which has five friends who reunite in an attempt to top their epic pub crawl from twenty years earlier unwittingly become humanity's only hope for survival. I thought the story
was very entertaining as well funny with no dull moments.
Next, we have the characters which overall, I thought were great in terms of acting with Simon Pegg stealing the show with his comedic timing but was also good during the character moments and his chemistry with the rest of his friends was fun to see.
As for the film's visuals I thought the cinematography was exceptional in terms of the camerawork especially during the fight scenes where it becomes very dynamic which is helped by the stylistic editing that is expected in a Edgar Wright film. Moving onto the tone of the film which balanced the comedy as well as the drama very well so you cared for the characters but still having some hilarious comedic moments. I thought the soundtrack of the film was very good and suited the style of the film very well.
Overall, I thought this film was a great conclusion to the Three Flavors Cornetto Trilogy and shows why Edgar Wright is my personal favorite directors with the way he crafts his story, characters and tone so you get a full enjoyable experience.
I give The World's End a score of 9/10
