For the twenty-sixth film of the month we have Coco

First off, we have the story which has an aspiring musician Miguel, confronted with his family's ancestral ban on music, enters the Land of the Dead to find his great-great-grandfather, a legendary singer. I thought the story was very entertaining as well as heart warming with the main theme of family explored.

Next, we have the characters which overall, I thought in terms of voice-work managed to bring across the emotions needed and you could tell the chemistry was there between the main family as well as Miguel and Hector throughout the film.

As for the film's visuals I thought the animation was great and the landscapes, colours and world design captured the the look of the day of the dead and the concept of it and what the film uses added to the overall experience. Moving onto the tone of the film which I thought managed to create a good balance between comedy as well as the family hitting drama which came through the whole film. I thought the soundtrack of the film which was one of the main highlights of the film with great guitar tracks as well as the singing that added to the themes as well as fitting the Mexican vibes because of the setting.

Overall, I thought this film was a very enjoyable film that a set theme across that was consistent and characters that could bring across them onto the screen to make it an entertaining experience and the soundtrack brings it all together.

I give Coco a score of 9/10
