First off, we have the story which has the story of Oscar Grant III, a 22-year-old Bay Area resident, who crosses paths with friends, enemies, family, and strangers on the last day of 2008. I thought the story was very insightful and and that shows with how the director carefully planned it out to present it in the way he wanted to and still to this day should be watched by people.

Next, we have the characters which overall, I thought in terms of acting were fantastic from everyone around especially by Michael B. Jordan as Oscar and the way he went through life and how he treated the people around him especially his family and even though he was going through times it didn't get him down.

As for the film's visuals I thought the cinematography throughout was one of the best parts because of the way it used handheld to get real close to the characters during intimate moments so a immersive experience could be felt. Moving onto the tone of the film which built up the drama over the course of the story right until the fateful moment when it hits hard as you have seen the type of person who it happened to.

I give Fruitvale Station a score of 9/10
