For the twenty-third film of the month we have Risky Business
First off, we have the story which focuses on Joel Goodson, a college bound teenager from Chicago who decides to have some fun in his parents house when they go away on a trip until things get out of control. I thought the story was fun and enjoyable time that was paced very well.
Next, we have the characters which overall, I thought were the best part about the film with Tom Cruise giving a surprising performance as Joel as this was one of his early films in his career he got started off strong. Then there was the supporting cast who did a good job at fleshing out the film from Joel's friends, his parents and Rebecca De Mornay as Lana the main interest of Joel.
As for the film's visuals I thought it looked good at best but it was still consistent throughout to make a nice looking film but nothing that stands out too much. Moving onto the tone of the film which I thought was great through the whole film getting the mixture of comedy as well as the drama as it unfolded and how Joel would sort everything out in the end. I thought the soundtrack of the film was different to most of recent films which made it stand out more.
Overall, I thought this film was an entertaining film that had some fun moments in it and I thought Tom Cruise stole the show in this film with the way his character starts rebelling while his parents were away and it was nice to see this type of coming of age film once in a while.
I give Risky Business a score of 7/10
