Transporter 3

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Transporter_3#/media/File:Transporter_3_poster.jpg

For the final film of the month we have Transporter 3

First off, we have the story which has Frank on his next job to safely transport the daughter of a Ukrainian official while having to face thugs who want to stop the transportation. I thought the story was somewhat enjoyable however I preferred the previous films before this one.

Next, we have the characters which overall, I thought were one of the weakest parts of the film with only Jason Statham as Frank being the only one who gave a decent performance. In terms of the side characters and villains I didn't really care about the acting wasn't that impressive.

As for the film's visuals I thought were at least half decent during the action sequences and you could see what was going on, other than that they weren't that good. Now we have the action which I thought was somewhat entertaining and had some decent sequences that are familiar to the franchise. Moving onto the tone of the film which I thought did an ok job with it's action while having a bit of comedy spread throughout. I thought the soundtrack of the film was and had tracks that fit the style and action of the film.

Overall, I thought this film was a disappointing film that I thought could at least pull at least an average film but unfortunately it failed to accomplish that and this is the end result of the trilogy.

I give Transporter 3 a score of 4/10

Speed

For the penultimate film of the month we have Speed

First off, we have the story which has a police officer who must stop a bomb from blowing up on a bus if it goes under 50 mph. I thought the story was very entertaining and for an action film it showed how you can pull it off with a simple story.

Next, we have the characters which overall, I thought were very interesting with Keanu Reeves giving an excellent performance as Jack and his chemistry with Sandra Bullock's Annie, Jeff Daniel's as Harry and the villain show off how likeable he is. The side cast did a decent job as well.

As for the film's visuals I thought they were very good as they added to tension throughout the film with the camerawork using close-ups and fast paced editing to increase to the experience. Now we have the action which I thought was thoroughly entertaining as well as thrilling as the challenges for the bus got more intense as it progressed. Moving onto the tone of the film which I really enjoyed as soon as the bus chase started the tension skyrocketed to keep you on the edge of your seat for the rest of the film. I thought the soundtrack of the film

Overall, I thought this film was very entertaining film with a simple story premise but with the use of great characters, visuals and an intense tone you can make a thrilling film that has a fast pacing.

For the thirtieth film of the month we have Signs

First off, we have the story which has family living on a farm who find crop circles in their fields which suggests something dangerous is coming. I thought the story was enjoyable with some really suspenseful scenes throughout.

Next, we have the characters which overall, I thought were mixed with the main character of Graham being a priest who has lost his faith was a nice idea and for the most part worked. Then you had the rest of his family: his brother Merrill and Graham's son and daughter and you could see the chemistry they had.

As for the film's visuals I thought it looked decent with some intense scenes at the beginning when the lifeforms start showing up around the house and especially towards the end as they attempt to break in. Moving onto the tone of the film which was actually done well to build up the suspense throughout the whole film as the tension increased as the lifeforms began appearing more. I thought the soundtrack of the film added to the suspense and intrigue of the film.

Overall, I thought this film was pretty average with nothing much standing out or impressed me, it had a decent score and interesting story with some nice emotion thrown in to make it enjoyable.

I give Signs a score of 5/10

As for the film's visuals I thought it had some stunning images that really stood out and fit the style the film was going for. Moving onto the tone of the film which I enjoyed as it had a mix of comedy that was really funny but also having a mix of drama in it that although weird was also an interesting part of it. I thought the soundtrack of the film was one of the best parts of the film and added to the overall quirkiness of it as well as being unique.

Next, we have the characters which overall, I thought were good and the chemistry between Carter and Lee was just like the last film with them going back and forth but still managing to get the job done.

As for the film's visuals I thought were consistent  from the previous film and you could at least see what was going on during the visuals for the action. Now we have the action which I thought was still fun and entertaining to watch like the last film with the addition of comedy in some of the sequences to make them more thrilling to watch. Moving onto the tone of the film which managed to get the mixture of comedy and action done really well. I thought the soundtrack of the film was pretty good with some decent tracks to add to the film.

Overall, I thought this film was an enjoyable film to watch and as the next film in the trilogy it was good but I do prefer the original one in terms of story and characters.

I give Rush Hour 2 a score of 7/10

For the twenty-seventh film of the month we have Runaway Jury

First off, we have the story which focuses on a juror on the inside and a woman working on the outside to manipulate the trial of a major gun manufacturer. I thought the story was very entertaining because of all the sides that were controlling the play and shows how a court room drama can be very thrilling with the right story behind it.

Next, we have the characters which overall, I thought were the most interesting part about the film with how all the conflict between the main characters came across through the courtroom and how each side played to win and that showed off the chemistry and acting of the main cast.

As for the film's visuals I thought were very consistent throughout adding to the tension throughout the film which added to the entertainment. Moving onto the tone of the film which I thought was done excellently as the suspense and intrigue kept building up throughout the whole case as you wanted to see what would happen in the end. I thought the soundtrack of the film was very good having a lot of tracks

Overall, I thought this film was an excellent film that kept me on the edge of my seat throughout and I enjoyed all the characters in this film and what happens when there is power over a jury.

I give Runaway Jury a score of 9/10

Next, we have the characters which overall, I thought were the best part about the film with Sylvester Stallone as Rocky being the main out-stander as it is his film we focus on his life and relationships and becomes someone you root for at the end.

As for the film's visuals I thought was consistent throughout the film and when it came to the final fight it got up close and didn't hold back with the fight. Now we have the action which in terms of the final fight which was built up through the entire film and it didn't disappoint and it was very entertaining as well as thrilling to watch. Moving onto the tone of the film which I thought was built up really well as Rocky trained for the fight and then when the fight came the action kicked up. I thought the soundtrack of the film was great and it had a mixture of tracks that captured all the emotions throughout the film with the main standout being the song played during the famous montage.

Overall, I thought this film was an enjoyable one that is held up by the good story and characters to the final fight which ends off the film in a epic note that you don't know how it will end up.

For the twenty-fifth film of the month we have Rock Of Ages

First off, we have the story which has a young woman just moved to big city to become a signer encounters a young man at a bar and together try to accomplish their dreams in Hollywood. I thought the story was an enjoyable one although I thought it was hampered by the length as it was a little too long.

Next, we have the characters which overall, I thought were the mixed part of the film with the acting being good bur most of them being stereotypes and having character arcs that I have seen in other films and done better in those films.

As for the film's visuals I thought the settings and the design of the film certainly fit the time period in terms of clothing and locations. The musical scenes for the most part were enjoyable and you can see the effort in them. Moving onto the tone of the film which I thought did an ok job at integrating the tracks into the film to make it a decent musical. I thought the soundtrack of the film was one of the standout parts of the film having such well known rock and roll tracks that are easily recognisable although it is weird not hearing there own version as they are song by the characters which for the most part isn't a bad thing.

Overall, I thought this film was a surprising one that I didn't think would be that good when I first started it but it ended up being a decent musical.

I give Rock Of Ages a score of 6/10

First off, we have the story which has Mike Sullivan working as a hit-man for a crime boss but one day when his son see what he does for a living both are now on the run which leads them on a path of revenge and self-discovery. I thought the story was very entertaining and as the story unfolded it became more and more intricate as the conflicts arose between characters.

Next, we have the characters which overall, I thought were one of the best aspects about the film as you can tell they all had chemistry and when the stakes became higher that's when everything changed. I also loved the parallels between Mike and his son and John and his son which hit home because of the ways they want to help them when they have gone. The relationship between Mike and his son was outstanding as it builds over the course of the film even with the danger that follows them.

As for the film's visuals I thought it was very atmospheric which was done by the use of the cinematography with the subtle camera movements as well as the lighting which was the stand out in the film. Now we have the action which i thought was thrilling as well as being what would have happened in those time for the most part. Moving onto the tone of the film which I thought was fantastic as the stakes were built up over the course of the film the tension was at an all time high. The way this film portrayed the crime and violence for the time was interesting. I thought the soundtrack of the film was wonderful as it managed to capture the time period as well as the danger of the times that the film is set in with all the gangs.

Overall, I thought this film was an excellent film that felt like a well crafted puzzle where all the aspects come together to create an entertaining film that has deep meaning to it and an emotional core that hits home and is one of Tom Hanks best films.

I give Road To Perdition a score of 10/10

For the twenty-third film of the month we have Risky Business

First off, we have the story which focuses on Joel Goodson, a college bound teenager from Chicago who decides to have some fun in his parents house when they go away on a trip until things get out of control. I thought the story was fun and enjoyable time that was paced very well.

Next, we have the characters which overall, I thought were the best part about the film with Tom Cruise giving a surprising performance as Joel as this was one of his early films in his career he got started off strong. Then there was the supporting cast who did a good job at fleshing out the film from Joel's friends, his parents and Rebecca De Mornay as Lana the main interest of Joel.

As for the film's visuals I thought it looked good at best but it was still consistent throughout to make a nice looking film but nothing that stands out too much. Moving onto the tone of the film which I thought was great through the whole film getting the mixture of comedy as well as the drama as it unfolded and how Joel would sort everything out in the end. I thought the soundtrack of the film was different to most of recent films which made it stand out more.

Overall, I thought this film was an entertaining film that had some fun moments in it and I thought Tom Cruise stole the show in this film with the way his character starts rebelling while his parents were away and it was nice to see this type of coming of age film once in a while.

As for the film's visuals I thought in terms of the musical sequences were well choreographed and made it entertaining to watch and they all felt different to one another and the cinematography kept the film consistent. Moving onto the tone of the film which I thought was very fluctuating as it tried to balance all the feelings of the characters going from dramatic moments to romantic moments one after the other. I thought the soundtrack for the majority of the film was actually really good and I thought was worked into the film really well capturing the feelings of the characters throughout the film.

Overall, I thought this film was an enjoyable one with a interesting story and well acted cast that brings it to life. Finally as a musical is one of the few that I like after having mixed experiences with them in the past.

I give Rent a score of 7/10

Real Steel

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Real_Steel#/media/File:Real_Steel_Poster.jpg

For the twenty-first film of the month we have Road To Perdition

First off, we have the story which has robots who have now took the places of boxers in the ring and an ex prizefighter turned promoter who believes he has found a winner in a robot he finds discarded found by his estranged son Max. I thought the story was entertaining to watch as you saw the progression of Charlie as he connects with his son although it was predictable.

Next, we have the characters which overall, I thought were very interesting as you see how bad Charlie is at the start of the film and doesn't want that relationship with Max but after finding the robot and it does well you can see the bond starting to grow. Max was a good supporting character as the main chemistry with Charlie and as he got into the sport he got better.

As for the film's visuals I thought during the boxing scenes were the best getting the coverage needed to cover the fights to make them entertaining to watch as well as thrilling. Now we have the action which I thought was done really well and seeing the different types of robots fighting in the ring was entertaining to watch. Moving onto the tone of the film which I thought managed to capture the drama as well as the tension with the robot boxing. I thought the soundtrack of the film worked well with the film having a good mixture of tracks for the action scenes as well as the dramatic scenes.

I give Real Steel a score of 7/10

Cops

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cops_(film)#/media/File:Cops_1922_poster.jpg

For the twentieth film of the month we have Cops

First off, we have the story which has a young man who gets on the wrong side of the Los Angeles Police Department at a parade and is chased all over town I thought the story was simplistic in it's idea but ended up being very funny to see as the man find all sorts of ways to escape the police.

Next, we have the main character which overall, I thought was very simple as for a story like the one in this film, he doesn't need to be anything special or extraordinary and it works just as well being normal.

As for the film's visuals I thought they were excellent, simple but effective the give the film what it needed to boost the comedy further and the camera played a good role with it in the way it was placed and how it moved. Moving onto the tone of the film which i thought was great as the comedy just kept going it was even more enjoyable to watch as the situations just got crazy. I thought the soundtrack of the film sold the film completely to make all the situations even funnier than they were.

Overall, I thought this film was film was entertaining as such a simple idea could be turned into a grand scale film such as this that hits all the right notes in terms of production and execution.

I give Cops a score of 8/10

I thought the story was funny but also very dramatic as some of the stunts that took place were death defying for the times.

Next, we have the characters which overall, I thought were in terms of acting both funny but also relate-able in ways as you feel for Harold's situation and the ways he tries to earn money to please his girlfriend. Then you have his girlfriend who only wants the best for them both.

As for the film's visuals I thought heightened the comedy as well as masking some of the set-ups for the comedic moments with simple movements and camera placements. Moving onto the tone of the film which I found to be very funny and shows me how much silent movies have influenced current film and being at the high standards for comedies. I thought the soundtrack of the film complemented it and added to the comedy and situations to give you a reaction.

Overall, I thought this film was fantastic film and it shows what silent films can achieve and that I should go back and look at more to get a better understanding of how film grew to what it is now.

I give Safety Last! a score of 8/10

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mission:_Impossible_%E2%80%93_Fallout#/media/File:MI_%E2%80%93_Fallout.jpg

The newest film I went to see in the cinema was Mission: Impossible - Fallout

First off, we have the story which has Ethan and the team sent on a mission to eliminate the rest of the Syndicate group who have now become the "Apostles". I thought the story was very entertaining and the thrill ride the story had was one of the best in terms of action films.

Next, we have the characters which overall, I thought were excellent in terms of acting and  with Tom Cruise giving his best performance as Ethan Hunt and the rest of the cast did a great job adding comedy, drama and conflict to the situation.

Overall, I thought this film was one of the best action films in recent memory and is now one of the three competing films for my favourite one in the franchise along with Rogue Nation and Ghost Protocol.

I give Mission: Impossible - Fallout a score of 9/10

For the eighteenth film of the month we have Mission: Impossible - Rogue Nation

First off, we have the story which has the IMF disbanded and Ethan Hunt and his team on a mission to take down the mysterious "Syndicate" who have plans for establishing a new world order. I thought the story was another thrilling hit in the franchise and it continues to get better.

Next, we have the characters which overall, I thought were well acted and the chemistry between the team was the best it has been with a good balance of comedy and drama to give them that chemistry especially in the situation they find themselves in. The best performances were from Tom Cruise as Ethan and Simon Pegg as Benji.

As for the film's visuals I thought it looked the best it has ever been with well performed camerawork during the set-pieces to fast paced action that gave the film it's urgency. Now we have the action which i thought was thrilling and the chase sequences throughout were some of the best of the entire franchise in terms of camerawork as well as the stunt-work. Moving onto the tone of the film which I enjoyed as it had a more focus on suspense but still managed to keep it action packed to make it entertaining. I thought the soundtrack of the film was consistent to the rest of the franchise having tracks for all the story beats in the film.

Overall, I thought this film was a well constructed action film that managed to bring back the suspense and intrigue from the first Mission: Impossible film and ramp it up and made you route for the team just like the past few films and I would definitely go back and watch this film again.

I give Mission: Impossible - Rogue Nation a score of 9/10

For the seventeenth film of the month we have Mission: Impossible - Ghost Protocol

First off, we have the story which has the Ethan Hunt and his team having to go on the run after the IMF is implicated for the bombing of the Kremlin and track down the true culprit. I thought the story was very entertaining and it managed to raise the stakes higher than the previous films and the way the team were on the run.

For the sixteenth film of the month we have Mission Impossible III

First off, we have the story which has agent Ethan Hunt who has now retired from IMF field work, that is until a dangerous arms dealer known as Owen Davian surfaces. I thought the story was better paced than the previous film as well as being entertaining and a step up in thrills.

Next, we have the characters which overall, I thought were the most interesting part of the film with Tom Cruise again giving an excellent performance as Ethan Hunt as he was pushed thanks to the villain of the film played by Philip Seymour Hoffman with this being the first film I've seen him in I thought he did really well to become a sadistic threat for the film. The side cast did a decent job and added the support the film needed.

As for the film's visuals I thought it looked very good and the camerawork throughout the film especially during the action scenes was rough but you could at least see what was going on. Now we have the action which I thought was thrilling as well as entertaining and I enjoyed the set-pieces of the film especially the bridge scene. Moving onto the tone of the film which I enjoyed as it managed to be more action packed as well as raised the stakes than the previous films which made the film even more tense to watch. I thought the soundtrack of the film was consistent to the franchise and had good tracks that worked for the action and tense scenes.

Mission: Impossible II

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mission:_Impossible_2#/media/File:Mission_Impossible_II.jpg

For the fifteenth film of the month we have Mission: Impossible II

First off, we have the story which has Agent Ethan Hunt sent on a mission to find and destroy a new genetically modified diseases known as "Chimera" which has been taken by a rogue IMF agent. I thought the story was again entertaining just like the last one however for this story the run-time effected it a lot.

Next, we have the characters which overall, I thought were mostly better than the first film with Tom Cruise giving a decent performance as Ethan. There was also his crew on the mission which I thought did a well enough job but can tell they had some chemistry. Finally there was the villain who I thought was average and gave a modest challenge for Ethan to face.

As for the film's visuals I thought it looked interesting especially with the use of slow-motion during certain points throughout the film which gave it a unique style sometimes it added to the film and sometimes it felt tacked on. The cinematography was consistent throughout and felt like it carried on the style from the first film. Now we have the action which when it kicked din later in the film I thought it was intense and thrilling to watch. Moving onto the tone of the film which I thought did well at setting up the film giving enough tension and mystery about the virus but also when the action kicks in the tone matches it well. I thought the soundtrack of the film just like the last film worked well to add to the tension of the film as well as the action sequences.

Overall, I thought this film was an enjoyable film and I believe it was an adequate sequel to the first film carrying over a lot of what I liked from the previous film however I prefer the first film to this film.

I give Mission: Impossible II a score of 6/10

Mission: Impossible

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mission:_Impossible_(film)#/media/File:MissionImpossiblePoster.jpg

For the fourteenth film of the month we have Mission: Impossible

First off, we have the story which has American agent Ethan Hunt framed for the deaths of his team members he discovers there maybe a mole and goes to track them down and expose them. I thought the story was very enjoyable as well as a fun action film that I would watch again.

Next, we have the characters which overall, I thought were mostly interesting with Tom Cruise as Ethan Hunt giving an excellent performance as the agent and seeing his back to wall added to the character. The other supporting characters were well suited for the film and I found most of them had good chemistry.

As for the film's visuals I thought the film had a cool and stylised look to it and the camerawork throughout especially during the main set-pieces where the framework and camera movement was flawless. The location footage for this film looked great as well to to set up the film. Now we have the action which I thought was entertaining as well as tense as well as being well shot such as the final chase. Moving onto the tone of the film which I really liked especially when the action and spy scenes were happening and the way tension was built to make you on the edge of you seat was entertaining. I thought the soundtrack of the film was very good especially the main theme and during the action.

Overall, I thought this film was a very entertaining and for the first film in the Mission: Impossible it got off to a good start and I will hope to enjoy the future films.

I give Mission: Impossible a score of 7/10

R.I.P.D

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/R.I.P.D.#/media/File:R.I.P.D._Poster.jpg

For the thirteenth film of the month we have R.I.P.D

First off, we have the story which has a recently dead cop who is brought in to work for the Rest In Piece Department which hunts down spirits who are hiding on Earth from their judgement and they discover a plot which threatens the cosmic balance. I thought the story was very generic and not that entertaining to watch.

Next, we have the characters which overall, I thought were one of the worst parts of the film both in acting and character wise as they followed the generic buddy cop material of not getting along and then working together at the end and the comedy and chemistry between them was annoying. There was also the side cast which again was unimpressive or generic.

As for the film's visuals I thought in terms of the special effect was very bad and you would be surprised because of how far CGI has come along in other films. In terms of the cinematography there wasn't that much in it to make the film look any different or unique from any other action film but it was ok. Now we have the action which was unimpressive and standard action scenes you would normally see. Moving onto the tone of the film which tried to be funny and create a fun film however that ended up not being the case and the comedy was repetitive and unfunny and took down the film. I thought the soundtrack of the film was none existent and unimpressive.

Overall, I thought this film was just an ordinary bad film you would normally get with nothing that stood out and felt like a combination of other films but only worse than them because it tried nothing different to stand out.

I give R.I.P.D a score of 1/10

Next, we have the characters which overall, I thought were very good especially the main lead of Porco and the performance by Michael Keaton added to the character's performance. There was also the side characters with some adding to comedy to the film  and others adding chemistry to Pocco such as Gina, Fio and Curtis.

As for the film's visuals I thought the film looked really good and the flying scenes were done exceptionally well which added to the experience of the film. Moving onto the tone of the film which I thoroughly enjoyed with a mixture of action but also the scale of adventure that made it more entertaining to watch. I thought the soundtrack of the film was excellent with a lot of tracks that had a mixture of ones for the country and time that the film was set in but also ones that added to the action and adventure.

Overall, I thought this film was an excellent film that had a lot of style and adventure with it that makes it another Studio Ghibli film off the list of ones I need to see and I look forward to the next one.

I give Porco Rosso a score of 10/10

Ponyo

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ponyo#/media/File:Ponyo_(2008).png

For the eleventh film of the month we have Ponyo

First off, we have the story which has Sosuke a young boy who rescues a mysterious goldfish in a bottle and names her Ponyo who wants to become human, however her father sends the forces of the sea to get her back. I thought the story was very enjoyable and it had some nice moments throughout especially between the two main leads of Sosuke and Ponyo.

Next, we have the characters which overall, I thought were the best of the film and the chemistry between the main leads was excellent and you could tell how much they both cared for each other.

As for the film's visuals I thought just like any of the other Studio Ghibli films I have seen the visuals looked gorgeous and the animation was smooth and crisp especially the sea life and water which was stunning. Moving onto the tone of the film which I really enjoyed as it had a focus on family as well as love which both together helped create a nice and relaxing mood to watch the film. I thought the soundtrack of the film which had a variety of tracks that hit all the aspects of a Ghibli film such as adventure, wonder, drama and many more emotions.
Overall, I thought this film was a relaxing film to watch and as the third Studio Ghibli film that I have watched I can say it was another entertaining film and I look forward to more films from the Studio.

I give Ponyo a score of 8/10

Point Break

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Point_Break#/media/File:Pointbreaktheatrical.jpg

For the tenth film of the month we have Point Break

First off, we have the story which has FBI agent Johnny Utah investigating  a series of bank robberies that seem to be commuted by surfers and goes undercover to gather more information. I thought the story was very entertaining with some very cool moments throughout.

Next, we have the characters which overall, I thought were the most interesting part of the film however the acting from the main cast was great. The chemistry between Utah and Bodhi was done really well especially after Utah starts to become a part of Bodhi's group.

As for the film's visuals I thought the film looked consistent and during the surfing and action scenes is when the visuals were at their best. Now we have the action which was very entertaining especially the sky diving and surfing scenes as they were the main set-pieces. Moving onto the tone of the film which definitely honed in on the action genre and produced a fun film. I thought the soundtrack of the film was the weakest aspect with not many tracks that stood out.

Overall, I thought this film was a fun and entertaining one that you could definitely tell was a 90's action film and it took a different approach to others mostly through it's characters and action set-pieces.

I give Point Break a score of 7/10
