Gone With The Wind

For the sixteenth film of the month we have Gone With The Wind

First off, we have the story which has a manipulative woman and a roguish man and their turbulent romance during the American Civil War and Reconstruction periods. I thought the story was ok but I felt could have been cut down.

Next, we have the characters which overall, I thought were well acted and played the characters very well with the standouts being Rhett played by Clark Gable, one of the interests of Scarlett and Scarlett herself played by Vivien Leigh a manipulative woman out for her own means and will use anyone for her own means.

As for the film's visuals I thought were excellent and some of the shots throughout were standout because of the good uses of lighting and the cinematography that gave off the style of the film. Moving onto the tone of the film which I thought managed to capture the times of the war during the times of the film. I thought the soundtrack of the film was good and it capture all the emotions felt throughout the film by the characters.

Overall, I thought this was an ok film with some good cinematography as well as a tone that was consistent through the whole film however one of the major problems was the length as someone of the superfluousness things could have been cut down as well as the characters who were mostly unlikable and you didn't care for but the acting helped make them.

I give Gone With The Wind a score of 6/10
