Cold War

For the twenty-eighth film of the month we have Cold War

First off, we have the story which in the 1950s, a music director falls in love with a singer and tries to persuade her to flee communist Poland for France. I thought the story was heartbreaking and tragic with it's structure being an important part of how they story was told.

Next, we have the characters which overall, I thought were very well acted and the chemistry together brought you into the film with how they interacted over the course of the story and what paths they went on and how they changed because of it and what that does to their relationship.

As for the film's visuals I thought it was one of the best aspects of the film with how the shots are composed to the lighting and how it creates breathtaking black and white cinematography. Moving onto the tone of the film which keeps the drama simple but effective and builds their mismatched relationship. I thought the soundtrack of the film was good and compliments to the story well.

Overall, I thought this film was a very entertaining watch being one of the recent films to come out that I had been looking forward to seeing and it managed to be an effective piece that leaves you in silence by the end

I give Cold War a score of 9/10
