For the nineteenth film of the month we have The Grand Budapest Hotel
First off, we have the story which has the adventures of Gustave H, a legendary concierge at a famous hotel from the fictional Republic of Zubrowka between the first and second World Wars, and Zero Moustafa, the lobby boy who becomes his most trusted friend. I thought the story was very enjoyable with this being the main work by Wes Anderson I was looking forward to.
Next, we have the characters which overall, I thought were all well acted and compelling with some of the characters in this film being some of Wes Anderson's best that he has created.
As for the film's visuals I thought the cinematography is one of the highlights just like another work done by Anderson with his use of the colour pallet, camera and lighting to give his films a unique style. Moving onto the tone of the film which has drama, comedy, action, intrigue and adventure which make it a very entertaining watch from start to finish. I thought the soundtrack of the film
Overall, I thought this film was a jam packed tale from start to finish with incredible direction, immaculate cinematography and characters that are unique, charming and memorable which makes this one of Anderson's best.
I give The Grand Budapest Hotel a score of 9/10
