No Country For Old Men

For the fourteenth film of the month we have No Country For Old Men

First off, we have the story which has violence and mayhem ensue after a hunter stumbles upon a drug deal gone wrong and more than two million dollars in cash near the Rio Grande. I thought the story was very entertaining and a great thrill ride from start to finish.

Next, we have the characters which overall, I thought gave great performances from each of the main stars and the dialogue and interactions between characters were interesting to see on screen.

As for the film's visuals I thought they were stunning and the careful use of the cinematography to create a dark atmosphere that suits the neo-western genre. Moving onto the tone of the film which was drenched in suspension and intrigue from the start and didn't hold back to give the best experience. I thought the lack of soundtrack throughout the film added to the tension extremely well and put you on the edge of your seat throughout the run-time.

Overall, I thought this film was very entertaining with it's well crafted story and interesting characters that lead the film as well as some superb visuals. This being the first Coen brothers film I have seen in a long time it was pleasure to see and look forward to some of their others.

I give No Country For Old Men a score of 9/10
