For the eleventh film of the month we have Kundun
First off, we have the story which has Tibet's fourteenth Dalai Lama dealing with Chinese oppression and other problems. I thought the story
was interesting because of the choice of subject matter chosen.
Next, we have the characters which overall, I thought were the most intriguing part about the film because of what was focused on and the time periods it showed and gave an insight to it.
As for the film's visuals I thought the cinematography was very good and there were some very composed and directed shots throughout with the location footage looking phenomenal. Moving onto the tone of the film which built up the drama with the use of the slower pacing. I thought the soundtrack of the film embraced the setting and used a lot of tracks that would fit the time period and country.
Overall, I thought this film was intriguing because of the director and it being different from what he has done before and after this film but it serves to show he can do a variety of genres.
I give Kundun a score of 7/10
