Skyfall

I decided to watch Skyfall 

First off, we have the story which has Bond investigate an attack on M16 which leads him to a former agent - Raoul Silva who has a grudge against M. I thought the story was entertaining and a different take on what a Bond films story is which was unique.

Next, we have the characters which overall I thought were excellent in this film with Daniel Craig giving a superb performance as James Bond, also Judi Dench as her final outing as M was also at her best. Newcomers such as Naomi Harris as the new Moneypenny and Ben Whishaw as the new Q did their jobs well. The villain Silva was a good one for Bond because of his background.

Now we have the action which was rough and entertaining which after the last Bond film was good change. One of the standout sequences was the pre-credit chase from cars to a train. As for the visuals I thought the film looked really good with the cinematography standing out as well as the well shot action sequences that showed off what was needed at a well coordinated pace. Moving onto the tone of the film which although fit the tone a Bond film should have the tone of the second half onwards was a nice change from the usual. I thought the soundtrack of the film was very fitting and had tracks which added to the overall feel of the film.

Overall, I thought this film was excellent and one of the best of the whole franchise and definitely another standout Daniel Craig film since Casino Royale after the drab that was Quantum Of Solace.

I give Skyfall a score of 9/10
