Saving Private Ryan

We now have Saving Private Ryan

First off, we have the story which has a group of soldiers led by Captain John Miller on a mission. He and seven others must rescue another ally who is trapped in enemy territory. I thought the story was very entertaining as you wanted the team to complete the mission.

Next, we have the characters which overall, I thought for the most part they were likeable with Tom Hank's Captain Miller standing out as he took on many roles to his team and you wanted to route for him throughout the film. Then there was the rest of his team which all had great chemistry with one another.

Now we have the action which was very tense and hard to watch when someone got hit pretty hard and you would wonder who would survive any action they came across on the mission. As for the visuals I thought the film had some excellent cinematography especially with it's lighting which managed to create a dark atmosphere. Moving onto the tone of the film which didn't shy away from the grittiness and realism of the war and wasn't afraid to show any of the gory details. I thought the soundtrack of the film added to the wide variety of emotions felt throughout.

Overall, I thought this film was a great film with a thrilling story with some characters you wanted to care about and thrilling action and grime tone that brought the whole film together.

I give Saving Private Ryan a score of 9/10
