I decided to watch The Lego Batman Movie

First off we have the story which has Batman having to stop Joker's new plan while also fathering Dick Grayson as Robin. I thought the story was very fun and entertaining with fun moments throughout and the overall story with Batman and Joker was interesting to see play out.

Next we have the characters which overall I thought were well acted as well as interesting. Batman was the standout with his development over the course of the film by trying to start trusting people and work as a team. The other characters like Robin, Alfred and Barbara also had great moments and were great support to Batman. The villain: Joker was very funny as well as having a great character played by Zach Galifianakis who brought a different side to the Joker.

Now we have the action which was fluently animated and fun to see what would go down. With this being a lego version of Batman and DC related characters seeing how the action was done was entertaining and with some good comedy mixed in it was a great experience.

As for the visuals I thought the film was brilliantly animated like the first Lego Movie with an interesting design of how famous locations in the DC world looked to parts where the colour pallet changes from full colour to a darker grey. The visuals during some of the comedy were great and added to the overall comedy which was funny throughout. Moving onto the tone of the movie which had the fun tone of the first Lego Movie but with the focus on Batman who was one of the best parts of that movie there is a shift in tone to Batman's world and what goes on in his life which was cool to see. I thought the soundtrack of the film was great for the film with fitting tracks that added to the film and they ranged from loud and fast paced to slower and sadder tracks.

Overall I thought this film was very entertaining and funny with a compelling story and characters backing it up for great movie which as a spin off of The Lego Movie it was just as great.

I give The Lego Batman Movie a score of 8/10
