I decided to watch Wonder Woman
First off we have the story which tells the story of Diana of her life on Themyscira and how she became involved with WW1 and became the hero known as Wonder Woman. I thought the story was very compelling and entertaining to watch Diana's journey but the ending did lack a bit.
Next we have the characters which overall I thought were compelling and very likeable with Gal Gadot giving an excellent performance as Diana just as she did in BVS. Her development throughout was very enjoyable as she learned about the world. Chris Pine as Steve Trevor was also an interesting character as he helped Diana throughout the film and teaching her about the war. The villain Ares however was lacking like previous villains of DC films and the twist was easy to figure out.
Now we have the action which I thought was very entertaining to watch and it was also shot really well and you could see what was going on during the fight sequences. the use of slow motion was good in places and added to the fighting but it got annoying in parts. As for the visuals I thought the film looked really good for a DC film with having colour this time around instead of using darker colours like other films. Again the cinematography for the action looked good with interesting uses with the camera and editing. Moving onto the tone of the movie which I thought for the fourth movie of the JLU (Justice League Universe) was a breath of fresh air compared to the dark, serious and sometimes messy one used in the last few films with this film feeling like a DC film but having more fun and entertainment. I thought the soundtrack of the film was fitting of the film and added to the overall film
Overall I thought this film was a step up from the past DC films but still has a few of the same problems the other films had but in terms of characters, action and most of the plot was entertaining and enjoyable
I give Wonder Woman a score of 8/10
