I decided to watch Assassin's Creed
First off, we have the story which has Callum Lynch learns about his Spanish ancestor and that he was related to a secret organisation of assassin's. He must gain new skills and knowledge to take on the Templar's in the present. I thought the story in the present was uninteresting while the story of the past was and if they focused more on that part it might have been better.
Next, we have the characters which overall I thought were very dull and uninteresting with the cast not doing anything interesting with the characters they were given and the only ones I kind of cared about was the characters in the past with Cal's ancestor.
Now we have the action which was very bad as when a sequence was happening it kept cutting to the present showing Cal doing them which was jarring and the editing of the sequences didn't help either as it kept cutting instead of staying on a particular part for a short time. As for the visuals I thought the film looked good enough for the visuals of the past with the location footage however the same can not be said for the present as the colours and setting were generic. Moving onto the tone of the movie which at least captures the formula of the Assassin's Creed universe but does not do anything unique besides giving a new setting for the Brotherhood being Spain. I thought the soundtrack of the film wasn't that good and didn't have any tracks that added to the film.
Overall, I thought this film was boring and to get the formula right using the Assassin's Creed law but is bogged down with stale acting, an uninspired story and action that is jarring to watch.
I give Assassin's Creed a score of 3/10
