I decided to watch A View to a Kill
First off we have the story which has Bond facing off against Max Zorin who wants to destroy Silicon Valley. I thought the story was very enjoyable and Zorin's plan was very intriguing and different from other villain plans.
Next we have the characters which overall I thought although Roger Moore gave another good performance i was clear to see that it was getting on a bit for him and some of his scenes he was in were weird to watch because of his age. The villain Max Zorin played by Christopher Walken gave a great performance fr a crazy Bond villain.
Now we have the action which I thought was good, the chase scene at the beginning of the film and the one in Paris were very enjoyable to watch. The City Hall on fire set-piece was very tense and one of the standout scenes. The other standout was the flooding of the mine with all the chaos and death going on. The final action scene on the blimp was good but slightly underwhelming compared to the other action set-pieces. As for the visuals which for the location shots looked really good especially the underground mine, in terms of the visuals of the action was shot really well especially the two chase scenes because of the use of different angles, stunts and the locations themselves. The set piece at City Hall on fire had good stunt-work in it. Moving onto the tone of the movie which I felt fit the tone of a Bond film very well with all the usual aspects you would want to see in a James Bond move: the chases, an interesting yet crazy villain and an enjoyable story. I thought the soundtrack of the film was passable at best wit not standout tracks. The theme for the film is one of them that I enjoy very much although for the longest time I wasn't a fan of it.
Overall I thought this film was a enjoyable one that ends Roger Moore's tenure as James Bond on a good note.
I give A View to a Kill a score of 6/10
