Goldfinger

I decided to watch Goldfinger

First off we have the story where Bond meets Auric Goldfinger who plans to contaminate the gold in Fort Knox for his own gain which overall I really enjoyed, the different pace this movie had to the previous one was a nice switch. The whole plot of Bond stopping Goldfinger's plan was entertaining to watch.

Next we have the characters which overall I thought were good. The acting was top notch for this film with Sean Connery as Bond on form again for his third film although he did get captured a lot. Gert Fröbe as Auric Goldfnger gave a great performance and as a villain was done really well.

Now we have the action which in terms of the car chases were done really well and were exciting to watch. In terms of the final action set-piece it was my favorite because of the countdown of the bomb going down as well as the two armies as well as Bond fighting. As for the visuals I thought they were good and showed up well for the action scenes as well as some others. The cinematography was very good and certain scenes were shot really well such as the opening scene. Moving onto the tone of the movie which was good at fitting the tone of a Bond film with all the usual aspects that make every film: the action, the tech, the girl etc. thought the soundtrack of the film was alright, the soundtrack fit the film well and the main standout was the main theme for the movie sung by Shirley Bassey.

Overall I thought this film was a very entertaining and is one of the best Bond movies in the franchise. It has everything that a spy movie needs to succeed and it is used very well.

I give Goldfinger a score of 8/10
