Man Of Steel

I decided to watch Man Of Steel directed by Zack Snyder.

First off we have the story which overall I thought was good, as this was the first Superman movie I have ever seen, looking at Superman's backstory for the first time in movie form was interesting to look at how it was adapted. Although the length of the movie felt slightly long.

Next we have the characters which overall I thought were alright. Henry Cavill's portrayal of Superman was the first live action version I've seen but his version of the character was good aspects such in both the Clark Kent and Superman sides of the character. Other characters like Lois Lane were portrayed very blandly and not very interesting. As for the villain General Zod he was very cliche in his performance and his motive but enjoyd the performance by Michael Shannon. 

Now we have the action throughout which I thought was entertaining and intense when watching especially towards the latter end of the film when Superman fight Zod's forces throughout a town. As for the visuals they were an alright part of the movie, during the action scenes there was a little shaky cam involved. There were some descent visuals on some of Earth's scenes. For other parts of the movie such as Krypton which looked the visuals looked very generic for an alien planet. The tone of the movie was very interesting as it took a more serious tone with this movie and I thought it worked well for the movie. The soundtrack of the film was just like any superhero movie with no standout tracks to help the movies scenes. 

Overall I thought this film was entertaining and a decent start to the DC Extended Universe. The good elements of the move outwayed the bad parts which are very obvious to see a parts throughout the movie. 

I give Man Of Steel a score of 8/10
